Trial for Holden's co-defendant to begin Nov. 27

Topeka police arrested Holden and Andre Quinton Jr., 40, after 18-year-old Jahlel Brundidge was fatally shot on Aug. 5, 2022, at the Travelers Inn, 3846 S.W. Topeka Blvd.

Quinton is to be tried beginning Nov. 27 on charges that include first-degree murder in the commission of a felony and intentional second-degree murder, Shawnee County District Court records said.

Holden was acquitted of first-degree murder at a trial in which she was defended by Shaye Downing, a court-appointed attorney, while District Attorney Mike Kagay's office was represented by deputy district attorney Steven Karrer and and assistant district attorney Will Manly, court records show.
