Cat died in Norfolk house fire

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk fire crews responded to a fire in Norfolk on April 10 that left its residents displaced and a cat dead, officials said.

Norfolk Fire-Rescue arrived to find smoke and flames coming from one side of a duplex in the 8000 block of Woodall Road. Crews made an interior fire attack and prevented it from spreading to the adjacent. The fire was under control around 2:05 p.m.

Nobody was injured. However, a cat was died at the scene. The number of people displaced is unknown.

The cause is under investigation.
