Champaign-Urbana MTD phone lines down amidst system upgrade

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — People wanting to call the Champaign Urbana Mass Transit District on Tuesday may have difficulties reaching a representative.

Champaign-Urbana MTD said on Facebook that its Technology Services team will be upgrading and modernizing the phone system. As a result, as of around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, customers may be unable to reach them by phone. While the interruption in service is expected to be only temporary, an estimated time for service to be restored was not provided.

“Our team will work to restore service as quickly as possible, and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience,” Champaign-Urbana MTD said in the announcement.
