Charlotte man accused of home invasion attack gets 8 years: DOJ

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Charlotte man accused of sneaking into a bedroom window of a woman he knew and then attacking her received a lengthy sentence this week, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina announced Friday.

Charlotte resident Bryan Ledbetter, 48, will serve eight years after pleading guilty in March of 2023 to charges of gun possession as a felon.

Court records stated that in September of 2022, Ledbetter snuck into the home of a woman he knew through a bedroom window. The victim was attacked while trying to escape and Ledbetter fired his gun into the air during the attack, court records stated. He then dragged the victim outside and held a gun to her head before surrendering to police, records stated.

Ledbetter had previous convictions that included an assault on a female.
