Chicago weather: Temperatures in low 90s and isolated thunderstorms possible Tuesday

National Weather Service officials are expecting temperatures in the low 90s Tuesday with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon hours.

Afternoon conditions at O’Hare international Airport are mostly cloudy at 92 degrees. At Midway Airport on the Southwest Side, conditions were the same at 93 degrees, officials said.

Officials warned heat indices would mostly be in the mid- to upper 90s through the week, and may reach 100 degrees in some areas, along with chances of thunderstorms.

Severe weather was not expected Tuesday, but isolated thunderstorms are a possibility.

Wednesday, scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and some of the storms could create strong wind gusts and heavy rain, officials said.
