Child dies after being hit by SUV in Miami Gardens, police say. Here’s what we know
A child died after being struck by an SUV on Monday morning in Miami Gardens, according to reports.
A black Honda pilot was going east on Northwest 183rd Street (Miami Gardens Drive) when it hit a child near Miami Gardens Shopping Plaza around 6:52 a.m, Miami Gardens police said in a news release.
Police said the child “ran across the street” and was hit by the SUV.
According to WSVN 7 News, SUV hit the child after a group of students exited a school bus.
The child was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where the student died, police said. The SUV driver remained at the crash site.
