A Kingsport Police Department (KPD) report details a crash tied to Mays’ charges. The crash took place on East Stone Drive near the Brookside Drive intersection on April 1.

According to the KPD, a Honda Pilot left the McDonald’s on East Stone Drive around 11 p.m. and was in the median lane waiting to merge. The KPD reports a Jeep Wrangler driven by Mays was heading in the opposite direction when it swerved into the median lane and hit the Honda.

The Jeep then flipped onto its top, the KPD reports. Both vehicles reportedly received disabling damage.

A passenger in the Honda was listed as having suffered a “suspected minor injury.”

The KPD listed Mays’ condition as “had been drinking” and results of a blood test were pending as of April 1.

Neither Mays nor the driver of the Honda were injured, according to police.

The driver of the Honda was cited for violation of financial responsibility.
