Columbus Symphony's Popcorn Pops concert on Friday canceled due to heat

With temperatures continuing to soar into the high 90s, the Columbus Symphony's Nationwide Popcorn Pops kids' concert scheduled for Friday has been canceled.

Tickets purchased for Friday's show will be honored at the next Popcorn Pops event on July 12, which will feature a concert with dancing and music followed by a screening of "Ratatouille." Otherwise, patrons can request a refund by calling the CBUSArts ticket center at 614-469-0939.

Though a heat advisory in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday, the Nationwide Picnic with the Pops concert with the Violent Femmes will go on as planned Saturday at John F. Wolfe Columbus Commons. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the performance will begin at 8 p.m.
