Cops Seek Sexual Assault, Weapons Charges for Trump-Loving Lawmaker

Authorities in Lansing, Michigan, are seeking felony-level sexual assault and weapons charges against Republican State House Rep. Neil Friske, according to records obtained by The Detroit Free Press. 

The 62-year-old lawmaker was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday morning after he allegedly “chased an adult dancer after a disagreement” while in possession of a firearm. Ingham County Prosecutor John Dewane’s office told the Free Press that law enforcement responded to reports of an armed male ​​”as well as possible shots that were fired.” Law enforcement learned “of a possible sexual assault of an adult female” in their response.

In a statement released on Facebook, Friske’s campaign wrote that “Rep Friske is always exercising his 2nd Amendment right. We do not have any details, besides what the media sourced, oddly before anyone of us knew anything.”

The campaign also suggested that the arrest was “highly suspect” considering that it took place “right before absentee ballots are released,” and a “day after an unknown phone number conducted polling on the 107 race between Rep. Friske and our opponent with deep-state ties.”

Frisk, widely considered one of the most right-wing members of Michigan’s legislature, is also an ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump. In response to Trump’s indictment on charges of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels — for which he was convicted last month — Frisk wrote that “it’s completely unsettling to think we may have to witness a former president, who is currently running in the next election, perp walked on live television, and treated like a political prisoner.”

After Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel leveled indictments against 16 individuals allegedly involved in a “fake electors” scheme to overturn the 2020 election on behalf of Donald Trump, Frisk decried the charges as “a political purge” and a “USSR-style persecution.”
