County opens Community Grant Program applications

Frederick County’s Division of Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for its Community Grant Program for fiscal year 2025 until Aug. 2.
The Community Grant Program offers grants to homeowners associations; civic, community and service organizations; athletic associations; and recreation councils to improve existing recreational facilities or build new ones on land owned by the organization.
The funds can be used toward the cost of materials, equipment and contracted labor for the project, according to a news release from Frederick County. Projects that are awarded community grants must be completed by June 30, 2026.
Organizations interested in applying can go to bit.ly/3KtKaub and fill out a pre-qualifying questionnaire to see if their project qualifies before applying for the program.
Applicants can request up to $25,000. A total of $100,000 has been approved to be used for the Community Grant Program this coming fiscal year.
Organizations will be notified in November 2024 about the grant award decisions.
