CSP: Driver ran from scene after allegedly hitting multiple cars on I-25

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) has released more details about a crash on southbound I-25 near the South Academy exit on Thursday evening, June 20.

According to CSP, troopers were called to milepost 134 on I-25 just before 8:15 p.m. on Thursday regarding multiple vehicles involved in a crash.

When troopers arrived, they learned that the driver of one of the vehicles was allegedly speeding during stopped or slowed traffic before they hit five other vehicles. CSP said the driver who hit the other cars apparently ran from the scene and has not been located.

CSP said one person was seriously injured during the crash, but that no other injuries were reported. The portion of the interstate was reopened to traffic by 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.
