Daily Digit: Do you live to work or work to live?

Daily Digit is the story behind the numbers that make our world work. Today we’re looking at the average workday. Americans working full time spend an average of 8 hours and 34 minutes a day on the job. They also spend an average of 14 hours and 24 minutes on personal care and leisure activities, which include eating and sleeping. Of that, 2 hours and 47 minutes are spent watching TV, with significantly less time spent socializing, gaming, reading, exercising, and relaxing. Working longer than 39 hours a week can be detrimental to your health, so it’s time for a break. Do you work to live or live to work?
