Darlington police look for 2 men in armed robbery at Young’s Food Store

DARLINGTON, S.C. (WBTW) — Darlington police are searching for two men after an armed robbery at a Young’s Food Store on Tuesday, authorities said.

It happened at about 10:45 p.m. at 601 N. Main St., according to police. Two men who had their faces covered entered the store armed with handguns and allegedly demanded money from the clerk.

One of the men allegedly demanded the clerk open the safe, but he was unable to, according to police. The men, who police said were between the ages of 18-25, ran toward Smith Avenue. Only one of them was captured on surveillance.

A woman also claimed she was robbed in the parking lot of the store, police said. She said one of the men was wearing a grey hoodie with black sweatpants and white shoes. The other was wearing a black hoodie with white on it.
