Disaster recovery center opens in Madison County

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — FEMA and the state of Arkansas will open a disaster recovery center in Huntsville on June 22-24 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to provide one-on-one help to those affected by the Memorial Day weekend storms.

According to a press release from FEMA, additional dates and times may be added.

The center is located at Clifty Volunteer Fire Department 182, 182 Madison 8248.

Other locations include the NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville and the Boone County Government Building in Harrison.

The release says residents of Benton, Madison, Boone, Baxter, Fulton, Greene, Marion and Randolph counties can visit any open disaster center to meet with representatives of FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and many Arkansas departments and other community partners. No appointment is needed to visit a center.

According to the release, each center is accessible to people with disabilities or access and functional needs and is equipped with assistive technology.

If anyone needs reasonable accommodation or a sign language interpreter, call FEMA’s Civil Rights Resource Line at 833-285-7448. The line is open Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
