Dolce & Gabbana sells Kate Middleton inspired dress

Luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has released a summer dress inspired by Kate Middleton. Named after the Duchess of Cambridge herself, the “Middleton Bow-embellished Cady Midi Dress” is currently retailing online for $2,675. Kate first wore the dress in emerald green last September when she joined her husband Prince William on a royal tour of Canada. On the trip, the 35-year-old donned a custom-made version of the Italian design, without the original gold embroidery. Stunning in the smart and flowing dress, her look was a hit with fans and fashionistas alike. Dolce & Gabbana has responded to the positive reception, by re-releasing the dress for royal fans to purchase.

“The Middleton” is now available in both a green and fresh cream color on net-a-porter.com, a company that specializes in designer clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. They describe the elegant ensemble as being both the perfect outfit for spring events and one that would pair well with metallic heels. The top portion of the Dolce & Gabbana number has pearlescent buttons with a neat bow, giving off a more formal feel. The sleeves are puffed at the shoulders, showcasing a charming chiffon trim. That feature, along with the stitched seamwork, exudes a style reminiscent of the 40s. The bottom half is a skirt which is brilliantly underpinned with a silk-blend and figure-flattering slip. Material for the piece is a combination of viscose, acetate, silk and cotton.

Last week the Duchess of Cambridge joined Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at the Royal Hospital Chelsea for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s first day. Kate once again opted for a striking forest green colored dress, wearing a mid-length piece that was adorned with white floral print. She fixed her brunette hair up into a stylish side-sweep ponytail and accessorized the look with emerald drop earrings and nude court shoes.
