Driver dead on the scene in overnight rollover crash in St. Joseph County

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY — St. Joseph County Police are investigating the death of a driver in a rollover crash west of U.S. 31 on Pine Road.

St. Joseph County officers were dispatched just before midnight on June 20 near the intersection of Pine and Edison Roads. They found a man unconscious and pinned to the roof of his vehicle. Police reported that fire and medical personnel arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but the driver died at the scene.

The crash caused damage to utility poles and power lines, police reported. Pine Road from Edison Road to Ardmore Trail will remain closed as crews repair the damage Friday morning.

St. Joseph County Police have not released the name of the victim. They report that the cause of the crash is under investigation.
