Driver receives moderate injuries in grisly crash on Route 80 in Hackensack
State troopers are investigating a motor vehicle crash early Friday morning on Route 80 westbound in Hackensack that sent a driver to the hospital.
The collision happened at about 3:22 a.m. at milepost 65.6, involving a Freightliner box truck and a Mercedes-Benz. According to New Jersey State Police, the driver of the Mercedes sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not released additional information at this time.
The Mercedes appeared destroyed in photos shared by the Hackensack Fire Department.
