Driver shot by person in nearby car in Oakland

(KRON) – A person driving was shot by a gunman in a nearby vehicle, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. on Thursday.

According to OPD, the victim was driving westbound on East 12th Street. Once the victim reached the 1200 block of 16th Avenue, a gunman in another vehicle fired several shots and struck the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

Oakland PD said the case is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Felony Assault Unit at (510) 238-3426. Anyone with video footage or pictures regarding this case is asked to send them to cidvideos@oaklandca.gov.
