EDITORIAL: Tribune Thumbs
Jun. 21—To the area students competing in the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League State Tournament.
Congratulations to the students of Albert Lea High School, United South Central and Alden-Conger, who qualified for the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League State Tournament, which was held on Friday.
Competing as individuals from Albert Lea were Hank Kuiters, Tanner Green and Anna Laskowske; from USC was Braxton O'Rourke; and from Alden-Conger was Ross Huper.
In addition to the individuals, the Albert Lea High School team also qualified after placing 11th with their team score from the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League Trap Shooting Championship. The top 40 teams qualified.
We did not have the results as of press time, but hope to have more on the Tribune's website over the weekend on how the tournament turned out.

As we write this, another large bout of rain is still on its way, and we're not sure of what the outcome from that will be.
What we do know, however, is that we've received a lot of rain in the last few weeks, and while some areas may not be flooded yet, they are saturated and to the point of excess.
As of Friday afternoon, Freeborn County was in a flood watch, while places like Mankato and New Richland were in a flood warning. An additional 3 to 4 inches of rain was expected through early Saturday.
The sun is expected to return on Sunday and Monday before a chance of thunderstorms returns Monday night.
We hope for everyone's sake that the rain eases up before farmers will be affected in the fields with too much water.

To the cast of Albert Lea Community Theatre's 'Fiddler on the Roof.'
After months of preparations and rehearsals, Albert Lea Community Theatre opened its performances of "Fiddler on the Roof," a classic story with many well known songs, this week at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.
We congratulate those who are acting in the musical, directing the music or acting, playing in the orchestra, working on props or sets, or completing any other task needed to make the show a success.
It's your hard work and diligence that makes these community theater events so worthwhile for the people who attend. ACT is an organization that is an asset to the community.
