Prosecutors say when Victor Ayllon was located by authorities, he had faint marks on his wrists.

Investigators later learned that Wendy had picked up Victor in the early morning hours that day and the two returned to their home by 2:16 a.m., Victor then left the home an hour later that same morning.

According to prosecutors, a camera inside the home captured audio of the two arguing and the victim screaming followed by a “thud” sound.

During an interview, Victor admitted to authorities that he had gotten into an argument with his wife over his accusations of her infidelity and his drug addiction. He then strangled Wendy to death and left her body with her two children.

An autopsy later confirmed that Wendy Ayllon died of manual strangulation.

“The defendant’s heinous actions, which resulted in the tragic death of his wife and the abandonment of their two young children with her body, are beyond reprehensible. His complete disregard for human life and parental responsibility has rightfully resulted in a significant prison sentence. This sentence brings some measure of justice for Wendy Ayllon and her family. Our thoughts remain with the young children who have been deeply affected by this traumatic event. I extend my gratitude to Elgin Detectives Chris Hughes and Chris Valle, and the Elgin Police Department, for their diligent investigation that led to this conviction and sentencing,’ Mosser said in a news release on Friday.

Victor Ayllon pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on April 25, 2024, and the court accepted the plea.

State law requires that Victor Ayllon serve his full sentence and he will receive credit for 1,074 days served in the Kane County jail.
