Escambia County Sheriff shows off guns and drugs taken in recent bust

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The Sheriff of Escambia County Florida says deputies are working hard to shut down drug houses. A video posted to their Facebook page shows Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons standing behind a table covered with items he says were taken during a recent drug bust.

The video indicates deputies searched a home on Cora Lane at some time Thursday and arrested two men. Two rifles are prominently displayed in the pile.

“Guns are always used with drugs which is what makes them so dangerous,” said Simmons in the video, scouring the pile on the table with gloves on. He holds up a number of bags he says contain drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. Also in the pile is a bucket of joint support for horses. The sheriff suggests the dealers may have been cutting their product with the horse medicine to stretch out their supply.
