EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING ends Saturday night, storms possible on Sunday

On the final day of the excessive heat, temperatures will remain hot this evening and very warm overnight. Lows will eventually fall to the mid-70s with very muggy conditions. Make sure to stay hydrated.

There will be a muggy start Sunday morning, very warm Sunday with increasing winds ahead of a cold front that will bring scattered storms in the afternoon and evening. Storms could become severe and bring damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. The primary threat with severe storms on Sunday is damaging winds. Make sure to stay weather-aware and have a way to get alerts.

Once this front moves through much cooler and less humid air will move in for Monday, highs will be around 80 degrees. Warm Tuesday but still not humid, highs will reach the mid-80s. The humidity increases into Wednesday with highs in the mid-80s, scattered storms are possible in the afternoon and evening. Less humid air will follow again briefly on Thursday, but temperatures will remain above average.
