What to expect on Election Day, June 25

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — With just days to go before the Primary Election, the last day to mail in your ballot has passed, leaving 24-hour drop boxes and in-person voting as the remaining options to cast your vote.

Six in-person voting centers will open on Saturday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to noon. On Monday, nine voter service and polling centers will be open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and again on Election Day from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

You can find a list of ballot drop-boxes and in-person polling centers on the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder’s website.

There are 39 secure 24-hour ballot drop-boxes throughout the county, which are emptied by a bipartisan team of election judges multiple times a day.

And while the mail-in deadline has passed, the Clerk and Recorder is still urging people to vote early.

“We’re anticipating probably between 125-150,000 ballots being cast this weekend leading up to 7 p.m. on Election Day. It’s going to be extremely busy,” said El Paso County Clerk and Recorder, Steve Schleiker. “We’re ready for it. But what I would always recommend is, get your ballot in early. You don’t want to be the one sitting in the line at 7 p.m. on Election Day and possibly not have your vote be counted.”

Registered Democratic and Republican voters should have received a single ballot in the mail, while Unaffiliated voters should have received two. Unaffiliated voters should select only one ballot to vote, and discard the second. If you return both ballots voted, neither will be counted.
