Fire breaks out in classroom at Conway Middle School, authorities say

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Conway Fire Department responded Friday afternoon to a fire in a classroom at Conway Middle School, authorities said on Facebook.

Crews responded at about 1:20 p.m., the department said. A spokesperson for Horry County Schools said the building was safely evacuated after a fire broke out in an exploratory classroom.

Once the all-clear is given, students and staff can return to the building. No other information was immediately available.
