Firefighters battle blaze at home in eastern Berks
Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in Longswamp Township Friday.
Crews responded about 4:25 p.m. to reports of smoke from a home at 49 Buckhill Lane.
Firefighters approaching the scene reported seeing smoke in the distance. Multiple additional tankers and engines were called in, including crews from Lehigh County.
Pickup trucks were used to ferry additional manpower to and from the scene.
Crews finished searching the site for smoldering remains and were being released from the scene about 7:08 p.m., according to emergency reports.
