Firefighters battle Ponderosa blaze

Jun. 18—VALDOSTA — Firefighters battled a blaze Sunday that left four people homeless.

Around 9:39 a.m. the fire department headed to a structure fire at 1228 Ponderosa Drive, a Valdosta Fire Department statement said.

They found smoke coming from the rear of the house. Firefighters confirmed everyone who had been inside had made it out safely, the statement said.

Four people were displaced and received help from the American Red Cross.

The Valdosta Police Department and South Georgia Medical Health EMS assisted with on-scene operations.
