Five men charged with kidnapping after missing teen found in Missouri
MACON COUNTY, Mo. – Five men were arrested in Missouri on Monday are accused of kidnapping a 14-year-old Indiana girl.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the suspects were all arrested and booked into the Macon County Jail. The suspects were Carlos Funez, 56, of Honduras; Marlon Aguilar, 44, of Honduras; Arturo Eustaquio, 41, of Mexico; Noe Guzman Hernandez, 24, of Mexico; and Daniel Ruiz Lopez, 19, of Mexico. Police said that they are all in the US illegally.
MSHP was alerted to the missing girl in Cass County, Indiana, around 2 a.m. Monday.
The girl’s father initially reported the incident to the Logansport Police Department when he witnessed the girl enter the backseat of a black Dodge Durango with an unknown registration, according to court documents.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office later notified troopers that the vehicle was traveling westbound on U.S. 36 near Hannibal, Missouri, after the missing girl’s cell phone had been pinged from the suspects’ vehicle that had a Texas registration.
Shortly later, a Missouri state trooper spotted an SUV that matched the description of the vehicle and initiated a stop. The trooper found the missing girl sitting in the backseat of the vehicle, and she was able to identify herself as the missing teen. There was no evidence of sexual assault.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detainee order for the five men. All men remain in custody without bail on a felony kidnapping charge.
