Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office responds to multiple illegal possession cases

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on two isolated incidents, both involving illegal drug possession.

In both cases, minors had access to dangerous items. In the first incident, on June 4, an officer reportedly conducted a traffic stop on a defective vehicle. There were two adults and seven children in the vehicle, between the ages of 11 months to 12-years-old.

The officer became aware that a passenger had an active arrest warrant, and while arresting him, the suspect informed the officer that he had possession of a weapon. The officer searched for the firearm and found a loaded handgun, multiple controlled substances and an additional weapon. An incident on June 15 resulted in a traffic stop due to a registration defect. The vehicle was occupied by two adults and four teenage juveniles. The driver informed the officer he did not have a valid license. The deputy reportedly detected the odor of a controlled substance in the vehicle, and the driver had an active arrest warrant for failing to appear on prior charges.

The officer located THC and about five grams of suspected Fentanyl. A further search yielded about 19 grams of cocaine in the defendant’s clothing.

Both incidents were forwarded to the Fond du Lac County Child Abuse & Child Welfare Access Services Unit.
