Former Missouri teacher’s aide accused of child sex crimes

CASSVILLE, Mo. — A former Cassville educator is facing criminal charges for child sex crimes.

Makensie Koehler, 33, is charged with first degree child molestation, possession of child pornography, and more. Court documents say Koehler had a sexual relationship with an underage male in the summer of 2023.

Authorities say when they searched Koehler’s Snapchat account, they discovered nude photos, “mostly close up images” of a girl under the age of 14.

Koehler had been working as a teacher’s aide for the Cassville School District, but resigned the post in March. A probable cause affidavit filed with Barry County Court says the investigation began on March 18.

She’s being held without bond in Douglas County.
