Former Wilson County correctional officer arrested for having sexual contact with inmate

WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A former Wilson County correctional officer was arrested for having sexual contact with an inmate and official misconduct.

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received information that prompted them to conduct an internal investigation. Deputies quickly found evidence that confirmed their suspicions and sent their findings to the district attorney’s office and a Wilson County Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury returned a sealed indictment charging former correctional officer Melissa Dionne with four counts of sexual contact with an inmate and one count of official misconduct.

“Our deputies are trained from day one to conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism. Any violation of the public’s trust will be met with heavy consequences and will not be tolerated,” Sheriff Robery Bryan said in a statement.
