Fredericksburg police: 6 arrested, police seize meth, cocaine, guns during joint sting

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (DC News Now) — During joint operations with agencies in the region, the Fredericksburg Police Department (FPD) said six people were arrested, guns were seized along with several drugs over a three-day period.

FPD said during the evenings of June 10, 11 and 12, officers worked with Virginia State Police Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Interdiction Section (CCI) units in an effort to prevent criminal activity.

During the operation, police said the following people were arrested:

  • 34-year-old Ryan M. Garcia, of Fredericksburg, was arrested during a traffic stop.

    • During the search, officers found suspect cocaine residue and drug paraphernalia. Police also learned that he was wanted out of Fredericksburg.

    • He was served outstanding warrants.

  • 24-year-old Michael L. Coles, of Macon, Ga. was wanted out of Fredericksburg for two charges of grand larceny of motor vehicles and two charges of obtaining money on false pretenses.

    • While searching his car, FPD said it allegedly found cocaine in the driver’s compartment.

    • He was arrested for possession of Schedule I/II substances and served on his outstanding warrants.

  • 26-year-old Benard L. Jenkins, of Spotsylvania, was arrested during a traffic stop.

    • He was charged with a concealed weapons violation.

Officers injured after person stole police car, crashed near Fair Oaks Shopping Center, police say

  • 37-year-old Jerome Blake III, of Fredericksburg, was arrested during a traffic stop after police allegedly observed him trying to hide something in the back of his car.

    • During the search, FPD said they found a concealed gun, methamphetamine, and heroin.

    • Blake was charged with false identification to law enforcement, possession of a firearm with Schedule I/II substances, possession of schedule I/II substances (2 counts), driving without a license, and served on outstanding warrants.

  • 44-year-old Maridy Lynn Rogers, of Caroline, was a passenger in Blake’s car.

    • Rogers was arrested for possession of schedule I/II substances, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon and possession of a firearm with Schedule I/II substances.

  • 29-year-old Tyronne Johnson’s arrest came after a long federal drug investigation by Virginia State Police, the FBI Fredericksburg Regional Narcotics Task Force and FPD.

    • Johnson was charged with distribution of a Schedule I/II Narcotic and distribution of a Weapon of Terrorism containing Fentanyl.

FPD said five guns, methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine were seized during the operation.
