Warning: This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7 episode 6 'Beyond the Wall'.

The newest episode of Game of Thrones turned out to be an action-packed but also emotional roller coaster, particularly for Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington).

Daenerys lost one of her 'children' as her dragon Viserion was slain by The Night King.

But some people think that the Mother of Dragons will actually be pregnant (with a human baby), based on a number of moments from this episode.

For those who aren't aware (or have just forgotten), it is implied that Daenerys cannot have children. Back in season one, the witch Mirri Maz Duur – who was responsible for a blood magic ritual which left Daenerys and Khal Drogo's baby stillborn – told her:

"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east, when the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves..."

That line is where it cuts off on the TV show, but in the books, it continues:

"...when your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return, and not before."

So Daenerys evidently believes she is infertile, but a number of nods appear to suggest otherwise – and that Jon is the one who will be the father. Which is a bit incestuous.

Notable moments include Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Daenerys discussing who would be Daenerys's successor.

Jorah Mormont also tells Jon beyond the wall, refusing to take the Longclaw sword: "May it serve you well, and your children after you."

And then afterwards, Daenerys and Jon shared a tender moment in which she tells the King of the North: "The dragons are my children. They're the only children I'll ever have. Do you understand?"

There is only one episode left in season seven, although in a slight change of pace to many episodes this year, there is not expected to be any major battle sequences in the finale.

Game of Thrones season seven concludes next Sunday (August 27) with a movie-length finale at 9pm on HBO in the US. It will be simulcast at 2am on Sky Atlantic on Monday (August 28) in the UK.
