Gov. Ron DeSantis allocates $1.8 million for Walton County projects in new state budget

WALTON COUNTY — On July 1, $116.5 billion in state funds will be allocated to various projects and programs throughout Florida. In Walton County, $1.8 million has been earmarked for three programs.

Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed no Walton County project or program in the upcoming state budget.

Here is what we know:

Walton County pedestrian master plan: $1 million

County officials will use this money to design, permit and construct multi-use pathways and sidewalks throughout Walton County.

County Road 3280/U.S. 331 lift station: $700,000

According to state documents, the state will provide $350,000 in funds for a lift station in Freeport and reduce funding for the Jackson County-Lake Seminole Howell's Boat Landing improvement project by the same amount.

Walton County Children's Advocacy Center: $100,000

$100,000 in recurring funds from the state's general revenue fund will be provided for additional child advocacy services in Walton County.
