Here are the three Pensacola projects that were approved to receive state funding:

  • $7 Million: Baptist Hospital Legacy Campus Reimagining

  • $5 Million: Pensacola International Airport Expansion

  • $2.2 Million: Bay Bluff’s Park Revamp

Officials also noted how the funds will help each project:

  • The Baptist Hospital Legacy Campus will be reimagined for affordable housing. The city is currently in the process of identifying buildings and areas that will not need to be demolished.

  • The Pensacola International Airport’s new terminal project is in the preliminary planning and conceptual development stages. The airport’s new terminal will feature another five gates.

“The $5 million in funding will be used to advance the approximately $70 million project through design and into construction,” the release from the city said.

  • The funding for the Bay Bluffs Park project will be used to demolish the condemned boardwalk and pave the way for community members to discuss a new design for the park.

“It’s a great day for the City of Pensacola,” Mayor D.C. Reeves said. “The $14.2 million investment in all three of our legislative priorities will help transform our airport, our city parks system, and set the stage for Pensacola’s largest attainable housing investment ever.”

Mayor Reeves continued, “I appreciate Gov. DeSantis, Senator Doug Broxson, Rep. Andrade, Rep. Salzman and Conservation Florida for their advocacy in these projects, and we look forward to getting all three started soon.”
