Jun. 21—BEMIDJI — Governor Tim Walz recently announced $5.4 million in Dual Training Grants to 84 Minnesota employers.

This funding will support on-the-job training for 958 employees in high-demand industries, including advanced manufacturing, health care, IT, and more, a release said.

"These opportunities help Minnesotans advance their careers and aid businesses in recruiting and retaining talent," said Governor Walz in the release. "It's a win-win."

The Minnesota Innovation Initiative, a subdivision of Greater Bemidji, received $15,000 to help cover trainee support costs such as transportation and tutoring.
