A Grimsby community centre is to close, with management citing the reason as "circumstances beyond our control".

Welholme Works, on Ladysmith Road, is home to small businesses and community groups, with police surgeries often held there.

In a statement posted on Facebook, management confirmed the centre would close at the end of July.

They added "key projects" would continue in other venues within the town's Heneage ward.

Describing their mission as "empowering the local community", the centre runs arts, crafts, music sessions and coffee mornings. Out of school clubs are also held there.

The BBC contacted Welholme Works but management declined to comment.
