Hampton Roads Transit seeking input for new bike stations

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Hampton Roads Transit’s program known as TRAFFIX is seeking the public’s assistance to find locations to install bike racks and bike repair stations.

This is part of its Bike Boost program to enhance cycling infrastructure throughout Hampton Roads.

“By providing cycling amenities, we actively support organizations and communities in promoting cycling as a sustainable transportation option,” said Amy Jordan, executive director of TRAFFIX. “Together, we’re creating a more bike-friendly community – one repair station at a time.”

Applications are open through September. To apply, click here.

The website outlines the application process, criteria, installation requirements, maintenance expectations, etc. Respondents will be asked how the new bike amenity will benefit local commuters and reduce traffic.

Installations should be completed by April 1, 2025.
