Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department kicks off fireworks sale

HAMPTON, Tenn. (WJHL) — A fireworks sale to support the Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department started on Thursday and will run until July 4.

Lt. Dareck Woods said the department looks forward to the sale because it helps raise funds to pay for fuel, truck payments and taking care of the fire stations.

“We look forward to it every year because all of our sales from that go to help us out with our volume our call volume and paying for fuel and our truck payments and stuff like that so it helps us out.”

Woods said that while the county provides funding to the department, it falls short of what is needed for the entire year.

“The county does give us money but that money is nowhere near what we need to make it last throughout the whole year,” Woods said. “So with our fireworks sales, we usually can finish up what we need and we have donations that also help us out.”

The fireworks sale will run until July 4 at 3867 US 19 East in Elizabethton.
