(WHTM)– A Harrisburg man will spend over 15 years in prison for a multi-state crime spree where he robbed various business in multiple states, the Department of Justice announced.

According to the DOJ, Kyle Morales, 21, was sentenced Friday to 230 months, or just over 19 years, in prison by U.S. District Judge Christopher Conner.

Morales will also have to pay over $5,000 in restitution to the companies, including a special assessment fee of $400, and he will serve five years of supervised release following his sentence.

Morales was convicted and previously pleaded guilty to robberies of businesses engaged in interstate commerce (Hobbs Act robbery), bank robbery, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, according to a news release.

According to the DOJ, other than Pennsylvania, Morales committed robberies in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina during a 12-day crime spree in March 2022. Multiple McDonald’s restaurants, Sheetz convenience stores and a United Bank were robbed by Morales, who also pointed a handgun at employees and took money by use of force.
