Headquarters of Wisconsin ice cream manufacturing company vandalized, one suspect arrested

MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southern Wisconsin say they arrested a woman who is accused of multiple vandalism acts including the headquarters of an ice cream company.

According to the Madison Police Department, around 11:30 p.m. on June 20, officers responded to 2070 Helena Street for a report of vandals spray-painting a building. The release says the location is the headquarters of Schoep’s Ice Cream.

Police say that two suspects fled, but one was eventually apprehended. The suspect who was apprehended was identified as a woman.

She reportedly had multiple spray cans, paint markers and other items in her possession. The woman was found to be a Belgian citizen who reportedly told officers she was planning to fly home at the end of the week.

The release says the woman was taken to the Dane County Jail.

Additionally, officers reported seeing similar graffiti in other parts of the city, so authorities think that the suspects are responsible for other acts of vandalism.
