Health care center for seniors expanding to Prairieville

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Doctors are working to increase understanding about Alzheimer’s among Baton Rouge’s residents.

Alzheimer’s affects nearly seven million Americans, including one in nine people age 65 and older, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Doctors said recognizing early warning signs and maintaining cognitive health is essential for seniors and their caregivers.

The team at CenterWell Senior Primary Care in Baton Rouge is passionate about helping seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The group is expanding with a new Prairieville center located at 17123 Commerce Centre Drive. An official grand opening celebration is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26. The free community event will include tours of the center, food, live music, bingo and more.
