Hendersonville police arrest man for allegedly faking his own abduction

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A missing persons investigation ended swiftly this week after Hendersonville police said they made an unusual discovery.

Investigators with the Hendersonville Police Department started looking into the disappearance of 42-year-old Jorge Najera on Thursday, June 20.

However, during the course of their investigation, detectives said they learned that Najera had “fabricated his abduction.”

According to officials, Najera later admitted to making the whole thing up. He is now facing charges for making false reports and is scheduled to appear in the Sumner County General Sessions Court on July 5.

Police are still working to gather more information in the case and have not released any further details.
