Here's who is running for school board elections in Marion County

The 2024 general election on Nov. 5 will help decide the makeup of many Marion County school boards.

The deadline to apply to run for a school board position was June 20.

Speedway is the only school district in Marion County that appoints its school board members instead of electing them.

Here are the Marion County school board candidates for whom residents can vote in the 2024 general election:

Indianapolis Public Schools

The Indianapolis Public Schools Board has seven seats, four of which are on the ballot this year. One at-large position and three representing specific districts are up for election. The district four seat is the only uncontested race this year.

Washington Township

The Washington Township school board has five seats, three of which are on the ballot this year. The district three seat is the only contested race.

  • Deirdre George Davis (incumbent) - District 1

  • Tracey Horth Krueger (incumbent) - At-Large

Beech Grove Schools

The Beech Grove City Schools board has seven seats, four of which are on the ballot this year. All school board member seats are at-large seats.

  • April Rinks

  • Tara Wolf (incumbent)

  • April McManus (incumbent)

Wayne Township

The Wayne Township school board has seven seats, three of which are on the ballot this year. All school board seats in Wayne Township are at-large seats.

Lawrence Township

The Lawrence Township school board has five seats, three of which are on the ballot this year. The seats for districts one and three, as well as one at-large position, are up for election. The two district seats are uncontested.

Pike Township

The Pike Township school board has seven seats, four of which are on the ballot this year. All of the school board seats are at-large seats.

  • Nichole Kelley (incumbent)

Franklin Township

The Franklin Township school board has five seats, two of which are on the ballot this year. Both seats are uncontested.

  • Ryan Donovan - Southwest seat

  • Elizabeth Yoder - Northwest seat

Decatur Township

The Decatur Township school board has five seats, two of which are on the ballot this year. All of the seats on the school board are at-large seats. Both seats are uncontested.

Warren Township

The Warren Township school board has seven seats, four of which are on the ballot this year. All of the school board seats are at-large seats.

Perry Township

The Perry Township school board has seven seats, four of which are on the ballot this year. However, only two people have filed to run. All of the board positions in Perry Township are at-large members.
