High school faculty member charged after ‘inappropriate relationship,’ Davidson County Sheriff’s Office says

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A sheriff’s office is investigating after a school system alerted them to an issue.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday the Davidson County School System alerted them to a possible inappropriate relationship between a faculty member and a 17-year-old high school student.

Jackson Alexander Perrell, 23, of Lexington, was suspended from his school duties and detained by detectives as they investigate. He has been charged with indecent liberties with a student.

This is an ongoing investigation.

“The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office would like to commend the Davidson County School System in their diligent efforts to protect their students and their continued partnership with law enforcement,” they wrote in a release.
