Hillsborough two-alarm fire damages townhouse on Marlborough Common

HILLSBOROUGH – A two-alarm fire damaged a townhouse on Marlborough Common Friday morning, Hillsborough Township Police Department Sergeant Philip Wolff said.

Around 9:10 a.m. on June 21, township police responded to a townhouse on Marlborough Common on reports of heavy smoke. Upon arrival, firefighters found fire and smoke in an attached townhouse unit, Wolff said.

The residents evacuated before police arrival and authorities evacuated the neighboring units.

Firefighters from Hillsborough, Raritan Borough, Neshanic, and Finderne responded to fight the blaze.

There were no injuries in this incident and the cause is not considered suspicious at this time but remains under investigation, Wolff said.
