Hispanic Today of Pitt State hosts Cinco de Mayo Bash

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg State University celebrates an iconic Mexican holiday.

Hispanic Today of Pitt State hosted today’s celebration.

The event was originally supposed to be held in the Gorilla Village, but rain forced it to move into McCray Hall.

Students, staff, and the community were invited out to celebrate the occasion.

The PSU Hispanic Band provided some authentic music, and in between songs, they gave fun facts about Cinco de Mayo and the culture behind it.

“I’m very excited, I’m very excited… Even though the weather did cause us to move locations we didn’t let that deal with us, it didn’t hurt us at all, we just got in game-set-mode and moved our location,” said Alaniss Marin, Hispanic Today of Pitt State.

The money raised at today’s event contributes to future celebrations hosted by Hispanic Today of Pitt State.
