Hollyoaks is set to air the aftermath of the Dillon Ray and Lucas Hay split drama as Misbah Maalik bans them from seeing each other.

Scenes airing this week will see the young couple sleep together for the first time, though Misbah is concerned, notably after Lucas's recent violence towards Dillon amid his brainwashing at the hands of 'conversion therapist' Carter Shepherd.

As such she tries to ban them from progressing with the relationship.

In new scenes set to air this Friday (June 21) on streaming and Monday (June 24) on E4, Dillon begs Misbah to allow him and Lucas to continue their romance – though his words fail to win her over.

As they're unable to see each other, Dillon later asks Lucas to meet in secret at the folly – but will anything come of the meeting, and can the relationship survive?

Dillon actor Nathaniel Dass recently spoke to Digital Spy about the young couple's storyline, explaining Dillon's feelings about Misbah's actions.

"After everything that's happened and it taking so long for them to be together, Dillon does think it's unfair," he said.

"I think anyone in that situation would – when you've wanted to be with someone for so long and had so many obstacles in the way. Dillon just thinks it's totally unjust.

"You're never going to have a calm reaction when someone's telling you how to live your life and what's right for you.

"Everyone wants those decisions to be in their own hands. If someone else is making that decision for you, it can be tough – you can lash out and say things that you don't mean."

Nathaniel also said he wants Dillon and Lucas to to end up happy together, as he teased their long-term future.

"I think after everything they've been through, it would be lovely to see them just be happy together," he admitted.

"But knowing the track record of Hollyoaks, I can guarantee that there's probably going to be things that mess it up or get in the way. Fingers crossed, we'll see. Hopefully, they'll be happy together, I'd like to see that."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
