Hollyoaks' Dillon and Lucas make huge decision about their relationship

Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Friday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Monday.

Tonight's (June 21) Hollyoaks streaming episode saw Dillon Ray and Lucas Hay make a huge decision about their relationship.

The pair have faced a number of obstacles in recent weeks as Dillon's aunt Misbah Maalik began to oppose their relationship.

Misbah notably put her foot down by trying to ban the couple from seeing each other after they slept together for the first time earlier this week.

Misbah went on to voice her concerns about Lucas following his violent outburst towards Dillon, as a result of his association with 'conversion therapist' Carter Shepherd.

Tonight's episode began with Dillon pleading with Misbah to let him continue his relationship with Lucas, but he was unable to change her mind.

"Who are you to tell me that I shouldn't be with Lucas?" he asked, with Misbah replying: "I'm the person who's supposed to be looking after you."

In reference to Lucas's outburst at Pride, Misbah continued: "Do you really want to choose a relationship with someone who's violent towards you? You need to be with someone who makes you feel safe."

Despite Dillon's protests, Misbah was adamant that the relationship couldn't continue – especially after her experience with son Imran's anger.

"When I look at Lucas now, I see the same damaged, broken boy that Imran was. And love isn't enough to fix it," she admitted. "I know he's been through some awful things, but Dillon, it's not your job to fix him."

Later, Lucas tried to patch things up with Dillon and revealed his intention to "make things work". Dillon walked off, before quickly returning to hand Lucas a note asking to meet up.

When the couple later met up in The Folly, Lucas declared his love for Dillon and promised that he'd never hurt him again.

"I'm not ashamed to be with you," he revealed, before Dillon began kissing him.

"If we're gonna do this, we're going to have to play the game," Dillon then explained. "We'll have to lay low for a while. Until the time is right and we'll show Misbah and your parents that they were wrong about us."

Will Dillon and Lucas be able to keep their relationship a secret?

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
