Hooversville man faces charges in alleged assaults of girl

BOSWELL, Pa. – A Hooversville man accused of assaulting a girl multiple times in August 2021 after they smoked marijuana was jailed Friday, authorities said.

Troopers at the Pennsylvania State Police Somerset barracks charged Travis Walker Taresco, 27, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue, with attempted rape of an unconscious victim, attempted statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault with person less than 16 years of age.

He also was charged with corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, aggravated incident assault, indecent assault of an unconscious person and indecent exposure.

Taresco allegedly assaulted the girl as she slept at the Maple Avenue residence.

The investigation began after troopers received a tip on Feb. 24, 2023. Charges were filed after a forensic interview was conducted with the girl at the Somerset County Child Advocacy Center on March 14, 2023.

Taresco was arraigned by District Judge Susan Mankamyer, of Boswell, and sent to Somerset County Jail after failing to post $25,000 bond.
