House in Scott hit by lightning, sustains minor damage
SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — A home in Scott sustained minor damage after a bolt of lightning struck this morning, authorities said.
According to the Scott Fire Department, firefighters responded at 11:32 a.m. to a report of a fire in a house on Zoie Drive. On arrival, firefighters reported there was no fire, but confirmed that lightning had struck in or near the home.
Investigators said the house’s fireplace was damaged, and that the lightning exited through the chimney and other areas inside the home.
